Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has appealed to United State’s President, Donald Trump to reconsider the restriction placed on issuance of visa to Nigeria. The US administration announced that visa restrictions which mostly affected those seeking permanent stay in their country on Friday. Apart from Nigeria, five other countries were also affected by the visa policy. The US had indicated that it took the policy out of security concerns. But while expressing his sadness over the inclusion of Nigeria among the countries affected by the visa restriction, Atiku, in a post on his Facebook page Saturday morning urged the US to reconsider its stand based on the history of her relationship with the Nigerian people. US Embassy allegedly denies Bishop Oyedepo Visa The senior pastor of Winners’ Chapel International, Bishop David Oyedepo was denied a US visa, which caused a mild drama at the United States Embassy in Lagos. According to reports, the embassy did not give any other reason except the standard default explanation that the Bishop did not qualify for visa renewal in its assessment and urged him to try again. Nigerian lawyers under the aegis of Coalition Of Lawyers Against Corruption in Nigeria, COLAC, has given President Muhammadu Buhari seven days to reinstate the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Walter Onnoghen. Armed and masked officials of the Department of State Services have blocked access into the National Assembly complex. The security operatives arrived at the complex as early as 6.00 am. The armed men have prevented staff, legislators and journalists from entering the complex. Senators Ben Murray Bruce, Biodun Olujimi and Rafiu Ibrahim are among those blocked. The late Donald Ugbaja, a retired deputy inspector-general of police, was also appointed member of the Consumer Protection Council (CPC). Yes, you definitely read that right.
