US Embassy allegedly denies Bishop Oyedepo Visa The senior pastor of Winners’ Chapel International, Bishop David Oyedepo was denied a US visa, which caused a mild drama at the United States Embassy in Lagos. According to reports, the embassy did not give any other reason except the standard default explanation that the Bishop did not qualify for visa renewal in its assessment and urged him to try again. Heaven was, however, let loose, when the obviously upset Bishop, created a scene whilst questioning the grounds for his refusal. An insider said he told the embassy he had been travelling to the states as far back as the 1980s and had not violated any rules or committed any crime to have warranted being denied a renewal of his visa. Bleaching  The Ghanaian Immigration Service (GIS) has disqualified candidates with bleached skin and stretch marks from a massive recruitment exercise. A GIS spokesman told the BBC this was because people with such marks might bleed during the "strenuous" training. Some Ghanaians condemned the bar as sexist and unfair. Those with tattoos, dreadlocks and "bow legs" were also disqualified from the exercise. The GIS received some 84,000 applications for just 500 jobs. The kind of work we do, it's strenuous and the training is such that if you have bleached skin or surgical marks on your body during training exercises, you may incur some bleedings," Superintendent Michael Amoako-Attah, told BBC Pidgin.
