Easy tips to help you write an effective job application





Many people think that to find a job, all that a job-seeker has to do is: find a job  vacancy, write a decent CV, send in your application and hope for fortune to smile on you and drop the job offer in your lap. As you may know it is not usually that easy. An employer will meet your job application before they can meet you, so you need to put your best foot forward and make sure that your application is written effectively.
Here are few tips to help you to write a great job application.

1. RESEARCH THE ORGANISATION... Before you write the application, take some time out to research the organization that you wish to work with. A good way to do this is to go to 3 organization's website or get an access to any of their corporate communication materials. Read about the vision, mission and corporate core values of the organization. Learn about organization's leaders and gain an understanding of the kind of business that the organisation does. This will help you know the organization, what they do and what they Stand for.

2. RESEARCH THE ORGANISATION'S SECTOR..
Apart from understanding the particular organistorganisation that you would like work with, you also need to identify their business sector. What sector of the economy do they fall under and how well do they seem to be doing compared to their competitor? Your knowledge of the sector will come through in your application and help you to stand out. Read through newspapers, news articls and search online for an understanding of the sector.

3. RESEARCH YOUR PROSPECTIVE JOB ROLE..
These days, job title have various meanings and expectations Attached to them. You must understand what is generally expected of someone that occupies the role you wish to apply for. This will help you to write your application in a way that shows your understanding of what is required of you. Doing a quick search online will help you to understand different job roles.
4. USE THE RIGHT WORDS.   When you write your application, you must take care to watch your choice of words, your grammar and your spelling. This way you will present yourself as a thoughtful, competent and professional person. You can use simple spelling and grammar tools and also ask someone else to proofread your application.
NOTE: All tthses will help you to tailor your application to the specific needs and culture of the organisation and show them how you can add value to them in a professional and presentable manner. When the prospective employer sees your application, it will stand out from the crowd and your chance of being hired would be greatly increased.

Warnings as deadly Central African Republic violence returns

Bangassou - Bullet-riddled roofs line the "boulevard of death" in Central African Republic's southeastern town of Bangassou, where almost everyone who enters is seen as an enemy. The city, spared sectarian bloodshed until May, now has more than 2 000 Muslim residents forced to take refuge at the local cathedral after attacks by the mostly Christian anti-Balaka militia. More than 300 people have been killed and 100 000 displaced since May as violence that began in 2013 moves into the impoverished country's central and southeastern regions, prompting warnings of a national conflict roaring back to life. In Bangassou alone, more than 150 people have died in fighting between militias and UN peacekeeping forces. "We were driven out by force. We have lost our parents, our homes and all of our belongings," said Djamal Haddine Mahamat-Salle, secretary-general of the organization representing the town's displaced Muslim...

ANAMBRA ELECTION : police to deploy 28,000 police/military men to Anambra

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Garba Umar, says it will deploy 28,000 of its personnel to Anambra state's governorship election scheduled for November 18. Mr. Umar said this at a meeting in Awka, the state capital, on Tuesday of heads of security formations in the state and representatives of the 37 political parties fielding candidates for the election. He said that 400 vehicles,100 flying boats consisting of 60 from the police and 40 from the Navy would be deployed for use by security operatives in riverine and upland communities. He said that the police and other security organisations would not spare anybody found wanting during and after the election.
