NCC Suspends Its Proposed Data Price Increase

The Nigerian Communications Commission NCC,has suspended the planned

increase in data prices that have circulated over the past few days.



This suspension is an order from the senate to stop the planned

increased,coupled with the public lamentations of the general

public,which led to the order by the senate.



NCC announced the suspension saying the decision is to allow for

further consultation

Army to begin "Operation Crocodile Smile" in Ogun

To address the security challenges in Ogun State and its environs, the Nigerian Army said on Sunday that it had concluded plans to launch a new security initiative code-named “Operation Crocodile Smile.” The Brigade Commander of the 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta, Basil Adoke, disclosed this in Abeokuta at a reception organised by the state government as part of activities to mark Nigeria’s 57th independence anniversary. Adoke, who said that the initiative would commence ” in the next couple of days” across the state and its environs, is targeted at miscreants. “We are going to start Operation Crocodile Smile in Ogun and it involves series of actions to step up the tempo targeted at miscreants,” Adoke said. Lawyer sues FG over Killing of Jos Lion

An Enugu-based legal practitioner, M. Chukwunonso Ogbe, has dragged the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Pla­teau State Government to court over the killing of a lion late last year. The lion was shot dead on December 2, 2015 af­ter it escaped from the Jos Wildlife Park apparently to prevent the animal from killing people. In the case filed on Oc­tober 18, 2016 at the Fed­eral High Court Enugu as the case of Mr Chuk­wunonso Daniel  Ogbe vs the Attorney-General of the Federation & others, with suit No FHC/EN/CS/122/2016, the lawyer is  praying the court to declare that the failure of the respondents to pro­vide dart-tranquilizers for the use of the officials of the park in capturing animal was what neces­sitated the use of live bul­lets.
